Investment

The Kirkby area is currently undergoing a £200m regeneration, making this an incredibly exciting time to make Kirkby your home.

The Kirkby Shopping Centre has recently been acquired by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialists. Working together with Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council, St. Modwen plans to develop and expand the town centre above and beyond the current offering, whilst maintaining and growing the community spirit that is strong in the town.

I have just opened a new shop @liverprint in the town centre after being very impressed with the work St Modwen have done here since they arrived. I'm very optimistic that the long overdue turnaround of the town centre is very much underway.

There is the very popular “Christmas Lights Switch On” which grows more magical every year with the addition of a fantastic fireworks display.

“Fantastic Christmas Lights Switch on!!!! You have put so many towns to shame with a brilliant star line up show and amazing fireworks! Such helpful, friendly staff too.”

The Christmas celebrations do not stop there this year. On Saturday 9th December children and adults alike gathered to get into the Christmas spirit by taking pictures in an enormous snow globe.

The weekend of 16th & 17th December, the residents of Kirkby will be treated to a show from the one and only Snow Lion, who is visiting Kirkby all the way from The Forests of Eternal Snow Pads. Community

Kirkby is renowned for its sense of community. The towns humble origins have resulted in a deep routed pride in the local area and its residents look after one another. The recent regeneration project has truly lifted the community to greatness, with all of the residents joining together to help St. Modwen and Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to improve the town whilst maintaining its charm.

Shopping

Kirkby Town Centre sits in the heart of Kirkby and offers a great shopping experience with over 96 big name brands and independent retailers. Some of the anchor stores include New Look, Peacocks, B&M, and Home Bargains. There are also many independent retailers in the 130-stall covered market which compliments the larger stores to create a vibrant shopping atmosphere. St. Modwen are planning to expand this selection of shops even further over the coming months and years.

For a full day of shopping, just 20 minutes away you will find Liverpool city centre. It isn’t at all surprising that Liverpool ONE is one of Europe’s leading retail destinations. It holds over 170 stores, bars and restaurants so there is entertainment for even the most reluctant shoppers. For those who have quirkier tastes, Bold Street is home to many independent boutiques, and if you love your labels then Cavern Walks and the Met Quarter are home to designer stores galore!

Kirkby has fantastic transport links to enable those working in Liverpool, Manchester or the surrounding areas to access their places of work quickly and easily. The M57 is just a few miles away, and trains from Kirkby train station get you to Liverpool in 18 mins and Manchester in just over an hour.

For those who love to travel, either for business or for pleasure, Liverpool John Lennon Airport is just a 20 minute drive away. With budget airlines such as EasyJet & Ryanair flying from the airport, you can nip away on an adventure to Europe or further afield at the drop of a hat.
