Neutrals, pastels and shades of blue and grey were the stand out paint colours of 2017. But what have we got in store in 2018?

The UK’s leading paint brand Dulux have announced ‘Heart Wood’ as its annual colour of the year for 2018.

This colour is inspired by the trend of making your home your sanctuary. It embodies comfort, warmth and soothes the soul during these uncertain times. The colour “sits between a smoky taupe and dusky mauve”, and is inspired by the warmth of wooden materials that we are increasingly using in interior design and architecture.

Dulux suggest that home owners combine this stunning colour with the use of soft leather and tactile wooden furnishings, bringing nature inside. 2018 is all about leaving the crazy world a distant memory as soon as you step into your calm and serene home.

The versatility of this divine Heart Wood colour means it is easy to incorporate it seamlessly into last year’s colour palette of inky blues and purples. Combine these shades to create a calming, comfortable and restful space for you to find your balance.
