Moving house checklist - changes of address

There are so many things to think about when you are moving house, and it is crucial to be organised and prepared to make the move go as smoothly as possible. We are going to create a series of lists which you can print off and check off as you go to help you with the process.
This is a list of the administrative tasks that you will need to do in the lead up to moving house, namely the companies & organisations where you will need to change your address.

FINANCE & BANKING
Premium bonds / ISA’s
Store cards – Boots advantage card, Tesco club card, M&S card etc
Cable TV provider (e.g Sky or BT)
Car insurance provider
Finance or leasing company
Vehicle breakdown cover company
If you are moving out of the area then find yourself new practices. If you have any outstanding appointments or health issues that are monitored, make sure that both your new and old practices are aware that you have moved, and if necessary contact the hospital or department where you are expecting contact from.

This may change the price of your insurance so be aware of this in your budget.
As well as your pet insurance and your vets, update your pets' microchip and collar with your new address.

Update your address with inland revenue
If you receive benefits you will need to update your address with the Department of Work & Pensions
SUBSCRIPTIONS & MAGAZINE
Change your address on any newspapers, magazines, treats & any other subscriptions that you have. Go through your bank statements to identify any that you might have forgotten.
FRIENDS & FAMILY
Friends & family – send out change of address cards, emails or send out a group text or Facebook message.
